Oncology Certified Nurses
When you first arrive at Ackerman Cancer Center for your consultation, you will be cared for by an oncology certified nurse who has received advanced training in the complex field of cancer care.
Oncology Social Workers
After your initial consultation and throughout the course of your treatment, an oncology social worker will work closely with you to provide all the support services you need – from connecting you with a member of our BEAM Team, to assistance with transportation and housing costs, to coping with the emotional impact of your cancer diagnosis. They are available to provide support to patients, families, and caregivers.
Oncology Wellness Specialists
Good nutrition is vital to health, during and after cancer treatment. Ackerman Cancer Center’s oncology wellness specialists are well versed in the unique dietary needs of cancer patients and are available to help you with any dietary concerns you may have. You will work together to develop a customized meal plan that meets your dietary needs and preferences. This is an integral part of the Center’s whole-patient approach.
